The AML-3 Sound Velocity Profiler (500m / 100 dBar) is a compact, field-proven instrument designed to deliver precise sound velocity profile (SVP) data for a wide range of hydrographic and oceanographic applications. Built to support accurate multibeam sonar performance and underwater acoustic positioning, this profiler is ideal for operations in shallow to mid-depth waters up to 500 meters.
Manufactured by AML Oceanographic, the AML-3 SVP utilizes Xchange™ sensor technology, allowing users to easily replace or recalibrate sensors in the field without the need to return the unit to the factory. This innovative, plug-and-play approach reduces downtime and enhances operational efficiency during demanding survey missions.
The standard AML-3 configuration includes a sound velocity sensor, but it can be expanded with additional sensors such as pressure, temperature, conductivity, salinity, or turbidity to meet specific data collection needs. The 100 dBar pressure sensor included in this model enables accurate depth tracking for mid-water profiling with high resolution.
